We use the freshest ingredients possible, from our own organic kitchen garden, as well as from local farms.  We serve artisanal local cheeses and yoghurts.  We grow many of our own herbs and some selected vegetables and fruits.  Our Chateau ‘potager’ (’kitchen’ garden) is a growing feature of life here!  Good produce, from reliable sources – a perfect combination for outstanding dining!

Our “Special Diet Holidays” for coeliacs (celiacs), their partners, families and friends are the main reason that Chateau de Villars has such enormous popularity. We extend our experience and care to those who have other special diet requirements also, whether coeliac or not, including those who are vegetarians, those who are wheat free but not coeliac, or those who are dairy free.

With thousands of gluten free and special diet breakfasts, lunches and dinners served at the Chateau over the years, we know our business. We know the problems involved with foreign travel. Our stainless steel commercial kitchen was  specially designed eliminating any danger of cross contamination. It meets the highest standards required by French restaurant regulations.  Our kitchen is always ‘Gluten Free’. No other establishment is specifically designed around ‘Special Diet’ guests, as we are. Our personal care and experience ensures that your ‘Special Diet’ is dealt with safely. Every precaution is taken to ensure that each guest’s diet requirements are met each day.  By the time you arrive here, we’ll have sent you our checklist and we’ll be ready for your Special Diet and your ‘Free From’ needs!

It is always a pleasure for us to see the relief our coeliac (celiac) guests have with a stress free holiday, enjoying the wonderful food we serve here. Unlike many others, we do not just offer the possibility of gluten free dining, all our catering is gluten free. Whilst this makes no difference to non-coeliacs, it makes all the difference to coeliacs.

Your partner, friend or family traveling with you  and who are not coeliac (celiac) will enjoy the gourmet dining experience here as much as you – as well as baguettes, croissants and pain au chocolat at breakfast!  We don’t discriminate against our non-coeliac guests!  These French bread & bakery items are available at our separate breakfast buffet for our non-coeliac guests without any danger of cross contamination to our coeliac guests  - these come to you from a separate storage area in the Chateau.
